So I have to start off apologizing for taking so long to update things. I am sure we are all guilty of PROCRASTINATION and I promised myself I would start the year off with kicking that habit, but it seems like I have not, so sorry,
We are currently in China, Tianhe District in Guangzhou China to be exact. It is a bit different here than the other parts of China that we have been to yet with all parts, the soccer is beautiful and I am so blessed to be here. We played China today and tied them 0-0.
Some of you were fortunate to catch the game on the internet and we thank you all for tuning in but for those of you that did not get a chance to see the game, it was a good showing for us as a team. We had a couple of ‘young-ones’ (Jonelle Filigno and Julie Armstrong) start which was great. They had an opportunity to start a game against a host country and they both did very well.
It was also my first game back since my shoulder injury prior to the World Cup and I cannot tell you how delighted I felt to be back on the field. Hearing the national anthem today was very special and seeing my teammates in the distance reminded me why even though it is hard to come back from an injury, at the same time it is so easy when you have support and great teammates like I do.
