AirportSo we are in the airplane waiting at the moment. We were supposed to have left out of Ontario, CA and fly through San Fransico but that flight was cancelled so we drove to LA arriving a good 4 hours before the flight and hung out.

I was excited because I got to watch my school which I coach at, Rutgers University beat UCONN for the Big East Championship. We’ve now beaten then there at their home and on our home court which is huge. Anyway it was relaxing. Read the rest of this entry »

Palm SpringsAnyway, the scoop for today (Sunday) was that we had the day off so we have breakfast, then most of us spend some time by the pool to work on our tans, yes even me and then we went shopping at El Paseo (which is the Rodeo drive of Palm Springs).

Latham, Sincy and I stayed and went window shopping, stopping at Harry Winston, Tiffanys & Co. to pretend like we knew what we were looking for. We tried on rings that were worth $500,000 and up. It was too funny. Latham prefered the bling bling while I prefered the more suttle, yet expensive look. Read the rest of this entry »

MexicoWE WON!!!

3-1 and it may go down as one of my most memorable games to have played in. Well first off, the crowd and the environment was amazing. Mexico loves soccer, we know that, but what I now know is that Mexico also had taken in the sport of women’s soccer. They were loud, they were passionate, they were proud, but most noticeably for us, was that they were respectable towards us. Usually when we travel it is hard to find the fans or crowd and cheer us on or have appreciation for us on the field.

Our first half was great. We were connecting passes, creating opportunities and just playing together as a unit. It was great considering that we had just had one day prior to train.

Yesterday was quite a day. After our late arrival (some of us got to the hotel at 3:30am in the morning), we were up early for training because we had to eat lunch with the mayor of the city. I have a teammate of mine writing an entry about our travel trip here and the lunch so you can read on that later).

Anyway, we enjoyed lunch, came back and headed of to our second training session which again was nice as we had people in the stands watching and cheering quite loudly as we practiced. It was again a nice display for the love and passion they have towards the sport here in Mexico. Read the rest of this entry »

Frank Koek

One of the highlights of the NSCAA Convention was meeting Frans Hoek. He is one of the greatest teachers in goalkeeping today, actually ever… Thanks PUMA!!
